BBC Somerset - Radio Interview


Ethan McNally-Roberts & Zack Swannell of Stallioni Campioni Racing speak with Matthew Faulkner for BBC Radio about Ethan's journey into karting and his future aspirations for his karting and motorsport career, alongside the need for Sponsorship to facilitate that goal. Ethan discusses his current Sponsor Learn with Vern, a Driving School based in Bridgwater who support's Ethan's journey and understands the challenges faced entering in to motorsport.

Ethan McNally-Roberts spoke with Will Tew trackside, at Llandow Circuit, having successfully completed the Club 100 driver assessment that day to race for the first time in the series. 

He was awarded Driver of the Day, having finished 10th in the B-Final at his first attempt!

10-year-old Ethan McNally-Roberts has clinched the Under-12 Champion title at the prestigious Castle Combe Junior Karting Championship, bolstering his opening 2024 season.

Father John says: “The spring series of the 2025 Castle Combe Championship brought together 103 of the region’s most competitive young drivers for a gruelling 10-round battle, where only the best five results would count towards the final standings.”

A BRIDGWATER businessman has throw his support behind an up-and-coming motorsport star from Burnham-on-Sea.


Vaughn Whereat, the owner of the driving instructor school ‘Learn With Vern’, has generously entered into a long-term sponsorship agreement with rising karting star, 10-year-old Ethan McNally-Robert.

Ethan has already made a name for himself in the competitive world of kart racing. In his debut racing season 2024, the young talent racked up an incredible three titles, 10 race wins, 22 podium finishes, and two ‘Driver of the Day’ awards.

Somerset Live - Somerset's go-karting sensation sets his sights on Formula 1 glory

Talented Ethan McNally-Roberts is just ten but hopes to make it to the top of the sport


Somerset's go-karting sensation has his eyes on the prize - and making it all the way to Formula 1 glory. Ethan McNally-Roberts' family only realised his talents after his cousin took him to a racing day to try it out.

Following the experience in December 2023 his parents approached a coach to ask if they could take him on. While there aren't many teams for Ethan's age group, one was made especially for him - and he hasn't looked back since.

Burnham-on-Sea.com - Nine year-old Burnham-On-Sea boy competes in high-performance kart racing series

A nine year-old Burnham-On-Sea boy has competed in a high-performance kart racing series for young drivers.


Ethan McNally-Roberts took part in tyhe National Karting Championship Club100 at Llandow karting circuit in Wales for the first time.

Never having raced at a national level before or at this particular circuit he had to pass a driver assessment in-order to race, and he passed despite changing weather conditions challenging his driving skills.

The race consisted of 60 talented drivers from all over UK and was broken down into three groups.

John McNally-Roberts says: “Ethan progressed from Group C with an outstanding performance starting from 14th, finishing in 2nd, this allowed him to progress to Group B. Starting at the back of the grid in 22nd place, he battled through to get to 13th place.”

“The final was hard fought and saw Ethan progress up to 4th position but an unfortunate racing incident saw him pushed back to final 10th position.”

“Ethan’s determination and drive was rewarded with ‘Driver of the Day’ in the cadet super lightweight class Club100.”

A ten-year-old boy from Burnham-on-Sea has survived a near-death experience to become a go-karting sensation - and could be the next Lando Norris. Ethan McNally-Roberts, who turned ten this weekend, almost lost his life after a severe case of food poisoning when he was seven.
