Racing tracks that Ethan has raced at throughout his go-karting career, he provides information on each of the track and ranks them, giving his specific reasons for liking each of the tracks 

Whilton Mill - Daventry

Location: 

  • Whilton Locks, Daventry, Northamptonshire, NN11 2NH.

Circuit: 

  • Whilton Mill boasts a 1200-meter outdoor go-kart track, according to Whilton Mill. It's known for being bumpy, fast, technical, and physically demanding. The circuit features a variety of corners with names like Oblivion, Christmas Corner, Ashby Hairpin, and the Boot. The track includes elevation changes and offers multiple overtaking opportunities.

Facilities: 

  • The center has floodlit circuits, a restaurant called The Brake Pad overlooking the track, and a fully tarmac paddock, among other amenities.

Events and Racing: 

  • Whilton Mill hosts numerous events throughout the year, including club meetings and rounds of the British Kart Championship. 

Recent Updates:

  • A new final sector has been added, including a tight left-hand corner, new tarmac, and curbs. This update has impacted lap times and tire wear.

Buckmore Park - Chatham

Buckmore Park Kart Circuit is an MSA approved outdoor kart racing circuit located just off junction 3 of the M2 in Chatham, Kent, England

Location: 

  • Maidstone Rd, Chatham ME5 9QG

History and ownership

  • Built in 1963.
  • Purchased in 2015 by the late John Surtees, a Formula One world champion.
  • Still run by the Surtees family. 

Track details

  • Features three distinct layouts: National (600m, 6 turns), Club (400m, 6 turns), and International (1000m, 13 turns).
  • Considered one of the best karting tracks in the country. 
  • A new development called "The Paddock" is planned to open in 2027, featuring a motorsport-inspired restaurant, simulator room, and rooftop terrace, and will also house the Driver Development Programme

Clay Pigeon Raceway - Wardon Hill

Located between Dorchester and Yeovil in Dorset, UK, is an 815-meter outdoor kart circuit featuring technical corners and short, fast straights designed to test driver ability. 

Location: 

  • Wardon Hill, Dorchester DT2 9PW

Track Length: 815 meters.

Track Features: 

  • Six turns, including fast, flowing corners, right-handers, left-handers, S-curves, horseshoes, and hairpins. The track also includes a kinked pit straight, a double right-hander named Billy's Blind, and a double apex left-hander called the horseshoe.

History: 

  • Established in 1963 on a former World War II military hospital site, it has seen famous drivers like Jenson Button and Lando Norris begin their careers there.

Glan Y Gors - Cerrigydrudion

GYG Karting Ltd, also known as Glan Y Gors Park, is a renowned go-kart track situated just outside of Snowdonia National Park in North Wales. 

Location: 

  • Cerrigydrudion, Corwen, Conwy, LL21 0RU

Track Length: 1100 meters.

Track Features: 

  • GYG boasts a massive 1100m championship-grade track, considered one of the most challenging and scenic in the UK.
  • It features a thrilling mix of fast, flowing sections, significant elevation changes, and technical corners like the "Dragon Straight" and the "Devil's Elbow"

History: 

  • Established 23 years ago as a family-run business, it has evolved into a premier destination for both professional British Championship Karting events and public enjoyment. RedBulls No. 1 Track.

Glan y Gors Park

Three Sisters Karting - Wigan

Three Sisters Race Circuit, located in Wigan, is a well-established karting circuit in the North West of England. 

Location: 

  • Three Sisters Road, Ashton-in-Makerfield, Wigan WN4 8DD

Track Length: 

  • 1473 meters. The main circuit is 1473 meters long. It also has various track configurations ranging from 700 meters to 1500 meters. The original layout, known as the Club Circuit, is 1069 meters long.

Track Features: 

  • The Full Circuit features the Conrod Straight, Penrith Climb, Coward's Summit, Joey Dunlop Corner, Lucy's Valley, Paddock Bend, The Esses, Rogerson's Straight, and Lunar Bend.

History: 

  • It was originally established in 1978 on the site of a former colliery and was extended to its current length of 1.47 kilometers in the early 1990s. The circuit has since been upgraded and can now host car and bike track days in addition to its karting events.

Shenington Kart Circuit - Banbury

Shenington Kart Racing Club, also known as "Sheny", is a well-regarded karting circuit located near Banbury in North Oxfordshire, England. 

Location: 

  • Shenington Airfield, Banbury, North Oxfordshire, OX15 6NW

Track Length: 

  • 1014 meters

Track Features: 

  • A fast, flowing layout with high-speed straights and two overtaking opportunities at the Stratford and Wilkins hairpins. The track requires precise driving, especially with regard to tire pressures due to lower degradation.

History: 

  • It's one of the oldest kart circuits in the country, with the first official race held in 1960. The track is known for being fast and flowing, featuring both left and right-hand bends. The track is located at RAF Edghill.

Events: 

  • Shenington hosts major British karting events, including the Super One Championship. The Shenington Kart Club offers various events throughout the year, catering to both beginner (Bambino) and senior drivers. It also hosts events like the Daniel Ricciardo Series & Club 100.

Llandow Circuit - Llandow

Llandow Circuit is a family-owned motorsport venue located in the Vale of Glamorgan, Wales, about 20 miles west of Cardiff. It's situated on a former World War II airfield and utilizes the old runways for its track layout.

Location: 

  • Llandow, Cowbridge CF71 7PB

Track Length: 

  • 1450 meters

Track Features: 

  • Technically challenging with both left and right-hand bends, suitable for cars and bikes. The karting circuit is technical yet flowing, with 9 corners, including tight hairpins, fast sweeping bends, and a long straight.
  • Includes specific corners and sections such as "The Hook," "The Hairpin Right," "The Long Left," and "The Heavy Braking Right" on the kart circuit. The main circuit has recently been resurfaced in sections, including the braking zone, the fast right over the back, and the chicane.

History: 

  • The circuit originally functioned as an airfield, RAF Llandow, during World War II. Llandow Circuit hosts a variety of motorsport events such as track days, supercar experiences, and testing sessions. It remains privately owned by the descendants of Jack Evans and is known for its technical layout.

Hooton Park - Birkenhead

Hooton Park Circuit, located in the North West of England, is a popular venue for motorsport activities, including karting and various driving experiences

Location: 

  • Hooton Park Airfield, West Rd, Hooton, Birkenhead, Ellesmere Port CH65 1BR

Track Length: 

  •  800 meters

Track Features: 

  • The track appears to be relatively flat but features a mix of turns and a hairpin corner. It is noted that it includes sections where drivers need to utilise the full track width, suggesting a balance of technical and faster sections.

History: 

  • Hooton Park's past is rich with aviation history, though it has also served as a venue for racing events throughout its existence, particularly in recent years.
  • Originally built in 1917 as an aerodrome for the Royal Flying Corps. During World War I, it served as a training base for Canadian and American pilots. The aerodrome was closed in 1919.
  • Became a subsidized flying club in 1927.
  • Served as Liverpool's municipal airport from 1930 to 1933

Castle Combe Karting - Wiltshire

Drive-Tech Ltd, which operates Castle Combe Karting, is based at the Castle Combe Motor Racing Circuit.

  • Castle Combe Circuit, Chippenham, Wiltshire, SN14 7BW

Track Length: 

  •  350 meters

Track Features: 

  • The track features challenging series of chicanes which encompass elevation changes, which in wet conditions test the skills of the racers. A fast paced racing format, that requires the driver to take action from the get-go.

History: 

  • The company was established in 1988 and includes a 350m outdoor kart track.
  • Dedicated 350m MSA approved karting track.
  • 200cc karts reaching speeds up to 30mph.

Herefordshire Raceway - Weobley

A 600-meter tarmac circuit surrounded by countryside. The track includes challenging corners, a bridge, and fast sections. The team are always warm and welcoming, the circuit holds hard fought championships with high calibre entries from all around the UK.

Location: 

  • Lower Hurst, Weobley, Hereford HR4 8QY

Track Length: 

  • 600 meters

Track Features: 

  • Herefordshire Raceway features a 600-meter outdoor go-karting track designed with a figure-8 layout and 12 corners.

History: 

  • Family run and owned business, since 2001
  • win engine pro-karts up to 50mph which were recently replaced (Aug '25)
